KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Initial setup of positions and maintenance in the area as per site standards for criticality and inspections
- Solve problems related to equipment breakdown/reliability.
- Continuously optimise maintenance practices to maximise plant reliability and minimize lifecycle cost.
- Ensure that statutory and regulatory maintenance requirements are satisfied.
- Manage and control the maintenance spending on services and equipment for a given area.
- Compliance Support- Safety/Quality (run weekly PM & Calibrations Compliance meeting)
- Carry out or provide technical direction on engineering studies related to new products or equipment.
- Become involved in equipment/plant design to ensure that the equipment is fit for purpose, meets user, safety and GMP requirements and minimises life cycle cost.
- Participate in safety reviews or HAZOPs as required.
- The above activities may be carried out internally or with assistance from outside contracting firms depending on the type and scope of the work involved. Where an outside contracting firm is engaged the Plant Engineer will be required to direct and manage the activities of the contractor
REQUIREMENTS:
- A degree in Mechanical, Marine, Electrical/Instrumentation, Chemical Engineering or equivalent experience and have a minimum of five years’ experience working in a relevant industry.
- Customer focused and flexible in order to meet changing business needs.
- Experience of managing budgets and cost control.
- Capable of working independently or as part of a multi-disciplinary engineering team.
- Proven ability to contribute to healthy pro-active two-way communications within the team and cross-functionally.
- Strong leadership qualities. A key part of the role is to continuously challenge customers, outside consultants and existing practices within the Engineering department to ensure that the service and solutions that are provided are optimized to meet business needs.
