KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead various projects from a Mechanical perspective and be part of a multidiscipline team.
- Analyze complex engineering problems and offer effective solutions.
- Provide support to fee and capital budget proposals as required.
- Monitor Mechanical engineering staff at junior levels, as required.
- Check other Mechanical / building services engineers work for accuracy and quality and undertake peer reviews.
- Requires extensive and independent contact with clients, vendor’s representatives, contractor and project field personnel.
- Attend and participate in Client, Contractor and PM Group meetings.
- Direct and/or participate in project site visits to monitor, review and sign-off mechanical installations.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Third Level Degree in Mechanical HVAC Engineering or similar discipline.
- 8+ years of formal experience in heavy industrial engineering design.
- Chartered or working towards same.
- Ideally you will have experience working on pharmaceutical or medical device manufacturing facilities.
- Ideally the Engineer will have experience in working in both 2D CAD and 3D Revit / Cadworks design projects.
- Demonstrable advanced design experience in the complete suite of mechanical / building services. Particularly the following system types:
- Chilled Water / Process Chilled Water generation & distribution
- Low Pressure Hot water generation and distribution
- Steam & Condensate generation and distribution systems
- Mains, Hot and Cold Water
- HVAC AHU’s and distribution Systems
- Process Exhaust Systems
- Process Compressed Air generation & Distribution
- Process and Lab Gas systems storage and distribution
- Advanced knowledge of all applicable mechanical engineering codes, standards and acceptable industry practices.
- Commercially aware and have ability to undertake value engineering activities and implement new technologies where they are implemented to provide costs effective solutions for our clients.
