KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead on the successful implementation of the Financial Priorities outlined in the client’s Strategic Plan. 
  • Work collaboratively with the Finance team to perform all tasks necessary to facilitate the achievement of the organisation’s mission.  
  • Overall responsibility for the management of the Finance Function and staff, ensuring all Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) and deliverables are achieved to the required standard. 
  • Accounting Reports and filing of  relevant statutory returns.
  • Lead finance related projects as directed by the Director of Finance.
  • Assist in producing Cash Flows and Monthly forecast in line with reporting deadlines.
  • Constantly analyse the use of systems in order to improve efficiency and information.
  • Management of the monthly payroll, Tax and VAT reports. Including oversight and ultimate responsibility for submission and payment to Revenue.
  • Support business leaders in review of all contract renewals from financial perspectives, including proactive approaches to rosters and staff resources allocation to guarantee contracts are reviewed in a dynamic  manner to ensure ongoing optimum benefit and value for the services. 
  • Ensure organisation compliance with Statement of Recommended Practice (SORP) is achieved on an ongoing basis through the regular review and development of relevant financial policies, procedures, guidelines and Standard Operating Procedures. 
  • Develop a strong Finance team through consistent effective leadership, training, operational management, and succession planning.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Degree in Accountancy, Commerce, Finance or Economics (Level 8) or Degree in an area relevant to the role (Level 8). 
  • Relevant post-qualification experience in a complex organisation with multiple stakeholders. 
  • Experience and a demonstrated track record of managing a significant annual budget. 
  • Experience in regular finance reporting and financial accounting processes including achievement of monthly and annual deadlines with multiple stakeholders. 
  • Experience in dealing with large volumes of complex data in a large organisation. 
  • Experience of financial risk management, including analysing and categorising potential risks, instituting policies and procedures to deal with identified risks and the continuous review of risk control measures. 
  • Experience of developing business case documentation. 
  • Operational planning and implementation including strategic planning. 
  • Proven track record in accurate forecasting and cashflow management. 
  • Experience of finance and budgeting systems. 
  • Comprehensive experience of various accounts and payroll software packages. 
  • Experience of supervising staff, with a track record of managing an accounts team to achieve key deliverables.
